The CFA Institute offers two different scholarship programs that are available to candidates for the CFA Program. These scholarships are targeted toward university students, CFA Institute society members, and other professionals interested in the CFA curriculum.
CFA Society of Portland Scholarships
The CFA Society of Portland (CFASP) Scholarship Program provides a substantially reduced fee structure to individuals who are selected by the Board of Directors of the CFASP. The Program is offered to help local investment professionals achieve their goals, and to attract the best and brightest people to our profession. The scholarships are available at Levels I, II, and III and for both the June and December exams. Participating candidates are responsible for purchasing their own curriculum.
Candidates should apply for this scholarship by completing the appropriate application: APPLICATION SOCIETY CFA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR JUNE 2010 EXAM: CFASP MUST RECEIVE APPLICATIONS BY JANUARY 15, 2010. CFA Institute Scholarships for College Students
The Student CFA® Scholarship Program provides a substantially reduced fee structure to students who are sponsored by full-time university faculty members who are CFA Charterholders. Student Scholarships are available for the June exam administration. Student Scholarships are not awarded for the December exam. This is a partnership with individual faculty members to introduce outstanding students to the investment profession. These scholarships are available for new Level I candidates only. The Registration fees are waived and the candidate is responsible for paying a US$150 Enrollment fee. Candidates are also responsible for purchasing their own curriculum.
Students may not apply directly to CFA Institute or to their local CFA Society for these scholarships, but are selected by participating faculty sponsors. For more information on this program, please contact the appropriate faculty member at your university
